The Weather Channel Names Cameron Clayton Executive Vice President of Digital Products

The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) has named Cameron Clayton executive vice president of digital products.

In this role, Clayton will oversee all of TWCC's digital product development efforts and strategies. He is based in TWCC's Atlanta headquarters and reports to Mike Kelly, president and CEO.

"Cameron has been essential to the tremendous growth of our digital platforms and our industry-leading positions in mobile and online products. TWC's mobile application ranks as the second most used app on any smart phone, only behind Facebook and his leadership has been an integral part of our success," said Kelly. "His knowledge and expertise in the digital industry are second to none and I am confident that Cameron will bring even greater success to the company in his new role."

Clayton has been with TWCC since 2004 and was most recently senior vice president of product where he led the teams responsible for the company's mobile and digital applications, interactive television, consumer applications software, international efforts and product development for weather.com. During that time, he oversaw TWCC's mobile product portfolio which includes the most trafficked content site on the Mobile Web along with the No. 1 weather application on iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, iPad and Palm. In addition, he led TWC's online properties including weather.com which have 45 million unique visitors per month.

Before joining TWCC, Clayton was the director of sales and marketing for a regional Internet service provider and a director of business development for MSN in New Zealand. In addition he was a founder of the first digital agency in New Zealand

Clayton sits on the Mobile Marketing Association's (MMA) global board executive committee and participates in several other mobile industry groups. A native of New Zealand, Clayton has been in the United States since 2001 and lives in Marietta, Ga. with his family.
