The Weather Channel Forecasts Snow For South Texas on Christmas Day

Wednesday morning on Your Weather Today, The Weather Channel® (TWC) announced that League City, TX, mom, Ginny Henderson is the winner of the network's second annual "Guaranteed White Christmas" contest, which is presented by Sears. 

Henderson's video features her three young children -"Hurricane" Sam and "Typhoon" Ruthie pleading for snow as "Weatherman" Jack, an aspiring meteorologist, predicts the day's forecast for snow in South Texas on Christmas Day.  Now as the winning family, the Hendersons' dream of a white Christmas will come true and they will wake up to a yard full of snow.

On Dec. 25 beginning at 9 a.m. ET, TWC meteorologist Adam Berg and co-host Mary Cobb will broadcast live from the Henderson home in League City, which is halfway between Houston and Galveston. Viewers can tune in to see the family's reaction as their home becomes a winter wonderland and catch all of the day's excitement. TWC will also provide a roundup of the latest Christmas Day forecasts from around the nation to see who else is enjoying snow on Christmas.

The Henderson's white Christmas will be complete with festive holiday activities including ice skating, tree decorating, sledding and more. They will also be awarded $15,000 cash prize, a $1,500 Sears shopping spree and a Tassimo Hot Beverage System - this year's supporting sponsor.

A panel of judges from TWC viewed hundreds of video submissions and, based on uniqueness and creativity of the submissions, selected Henderson's video as the grand-prize winner. The remaining two finalists include Richard and Jennifer Beal of Pensacola, FL, and Starletta Griffin from Las Vegas, NV. Finalists will each receive $2,500 cash prize, a $250 Sears gift card and a Tassimo Hot Beverage System.  Viewers can catch these videos along with the best videos that were submitted from this year's contestants in TWC's Guaranteed White Christmas Special Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. ET.
