The Weather Channel Announces Finalists for Second Annual 'Guaranteed White Christmas'

The Weather Channel has announced three finalists for its second annual "Guaranteed White Christmas" contest.

Viewers can tune in Friday morning, Dec. 17, during "Your Weather Today" (7-10 a.m. ET) to find out who will win the ultimate gift of snow on Christmas Day along with $15,000. Contest finalists include Jennifer Beal of Pensacola, FL, Ginny Henderson of League City, TX, and Scarletta Griffin from Las Vegas, NV.

A panel of judges from TWC viewed hundreds of video submissions and, based on uniqueness and creativity of the submissions, selected these finalists, one of which will be chosen as the grand prize winner.  From compelling stories and hip dance moves to rapping and rhyming skills, these finalists caught the attention of TWC judges. Viewers can catch these videos along with the best videos that were submitted from this year's contestants in TWC's "Guaranteed White Christmas Special" Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. ET.

In Beal's video, her husband is shown typing his submission and describing why their family should not win snow but be considered for second place since living in Pensacola has not prepared them for snow removal or building snowmen. Henderson's video showcases her three children -"Hurricane" Sam and "Typhoon" Ruthie pleading for snow as weatherman Jack projects the day's forecast for snow in South Texas on Christmas Day. Griffin's video submission shows off her talented rhyming skills as she wishes for snow, "My grandkids came from Reno just to let you know, but now they're here with me in Vegas and they want some snow." 

Once the grand prize winner has been selected, TWC will blanket their yard with genuine snow Dec. 25, live from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. ET.  TWC viewers can tune in as meteorologist Adam Berg provides on-air reports to capture all of the day's excitement and get reactions from the winner along with family, friends and neighbors. TWC will provide festive holiday activities including ice skating, tree decorating, hot cocoa stations, sledding and more. In addition to winning a white Christmas and $15,000 cash prize, the grand prize winner will also get a $1,500 Sears shopping spree and a Tassimo Hot Beverage System.  The remaining two finalists will each receive a $2,500 cash prize, a $250 Sears gift card and a Tassimo Hot Beverage System.
