The Weather Channel has named Rob Deichert senior vice president of digital advertising operations. Deichert will be based in the company’s New York ad sales office where he will report to Beth Lawrence, executive vice president of advertising sales and media solutions for The Weather Channel Companies.
In making the announcement, Lawrence said “Rob is a great leader who brings exceptional knowledge and understanding of advertising operations and yield management to our team. He will be a critical part of our future growth as we develop industry leading cross platform solutions for our clients.”
In this new role, Deichert will be responsible for all ad operations, pricing and inventory, strategy and processes for TWC’s digital properties which include weather.com®, The Weather Channel Desktop and The Weather Channel Mobile. TWC reaches more than 40 million unique users online each month and is the most popular source of online weather, news and information according to Nielsen//NetRatings.
Most recently, Deichert served as senior vice president in global sales development for AOL, where he managed the strategy and operational monetization of AOL's owned and operated inventory. In this role, Deichert and his team focused on ensuring AOL had the industry’s leading advertising solutions across AOL Media.
Before joining AOL in 2006, Deichert was director of ad operations at Advertising.com, where he implemented new projects to help achieve award-winning sales, customer service and operation processes. While there, he held various roles in the areas of sales, media buying and business operations. Prior to that, Deichert was at Mars & Co, a boutique strategy consulting firm where he worked with key clients on market research, product analysis, financial benchmarks and business forecasting.
Deichert received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Johns Hopkins University and a master’s degree of business administration from the University of Maryland. Deichert currently resides in New York.
