The Weather Channel Adds Michael Finnerty as Vice President of Web Products for weather.com

The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) has announced that Michael Finnerty joins the company as the vice president of web products managing weather.com.

He will be responsible for product and content strategies to reinvent weather.com's leadership position, enhance reach and exceed revenue goals. He will oversee prioritization, development and maintenance of top-20 website weather.com, part of TWCC's suite of digital properties, which reach 42 million viewers monthly. He is based in TWCC's Atlanta headquarters and reports to Cameron Clayton, executive vice president of digital products.
 
Most recently Finnerty was vice president of product planning and operations at Comcast Interactive Media (CIM). He was a founding team member of this division within Comcast, which focused on growing the company's online and mobile Internet businesses. During his time with CIM, Finnerty was vice president and general manager for Comcast.net, CIM's largest product reaching more than 15 million viewers monthly, and served in a number of senior positions focusing on monetization strategy, mergers and acquisitions, business development and business operations.
 
Prior to CIM, he also worked with Comcast Corporation as director of strategy and business development for content development. He started his career as a senior associate in the transaction services (M&A) management consulting unit of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
 
A Philadelphia native, Finnerty received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Villanova University, and he is a certified public accountant. He moved from Philadelphia to Atlanta with his wife and three children.
