Sky News has announced that Lucy Cotter has joined the channel as Entertainment Correspondent.
In her new role, Lucy will bring Sky News viewers and web-users the biggest arts and entertainment stories from across the globe. Her appointment further strengthens Sky’s commitment to comprehensive entertainment news across all its platforms – TV, online, mobile and radio.
Lucy will be reporting live from all the major award ceremonies and red carpet events including the Oscars, EMMYs and BAFTAs, and will be securing exclusive sit-down interviews with the world’s most influential artists. In addition, she will report live from the Sky News studio in West London on the latest breaking entertainment stories, offering background expertise, insight and analysis.
Commenting on her move to Sky News, Lucy said: “I am incredibly excited to be joining Sky News in my capacity as Entertainment Correspondent and I'm really looking forward to all the new challenges ahead.”

Lucy joins Sky News from ITV where she was the Entertainment Correspondent for London Tonight, as well as a regular studio presenter for the programme. Her exciting and varied role saw Lucy reporting live from the red carpet for all the capital's film premieres, being given kisses from Will Smith, hugs from Hugh Jackman, and a 'yes' from George Clooney when she proposed to him. Lucy also researched, wrote and presented ITV2’s daily entertainment bulletin, and for the past two years, has covered the Oscars from L.A. for the channel.
Before joining ITV, Lucy worked for Sky Arts on its first Hay-on-Sky series with Mariella Frostrup, presenting highlights from the literary festival, as well as producing daily colour pieces with comedian Rory McGrath. Lucy has also worked for Granada, writing and presenting regional documentaries, and reporting for their North West political programme. Previously to that, Lucy was a presenter/reporter for Granada News in Manchester. She started her TV broadcasting career as a researcher for the BBC’s Daily Politics Show during the 2005 general election.
Lucy studied psychology, sociology and politics at Cambridge University and gained a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism.
