Sky News has announced that it is inviting viewers to submit questions for the party leaders to tackle during its forthcoming Leaders’ Debate. Sky News viewers will have the opportunity to grill Gordon Brown, David Cameron, and Nick Clegg on election issues as they go head-to-head in the Sky News Debate, which will be broadcast live from the South West of England during the election campaign.
The public will also be able to submit questions for the planned Scotland and Wales political debates organised by Sky News, which will be held in the context of the UK General Election.
Viewers whose questions are picked for The Sky News Debate, moderated by Sky’s Political Editor Adam Boulton, will be invited to join the studio audience and put their question directly to the party leaders.
Chris Birkett, Sky News Executive Editor said: “Sky News has campaigned hard for these debates and this is a fantastic chance for members of the public to put the three main party leaders on the spot, and get them to address the issues that matter in this election.”
Viewers can submit their questions for all three Sky News debates in the South West, Scotland and Wales via an online form at www.skynews.com/debatequestion. Although the Sky News Debate will be partly themed on foreign affairs, the audience may submit questions on any election issue.
Sky News will be using social media sites to gather questions from the general public. There will be a link to the submission form from the Sky News Leaders’ Debate Facebook Fanpage http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sky-News-Leaders-Debate/144626466059 and the link will also be distributed via the @Skynews Twitter feed.
