Sky News to Air Live Debate on UK Riots

Sky News to Air Live Debate on UK RiotsTonight Sky News will be hosting a special debate regarding the riots across the country.

Why are they rioting? an hour long special programme will go out at 8pm and will be hosted and chaired by Sky News anchor, Colin Brazier.

The debate will be divided into three sections: Why are they rioting? Who do we blame? What can we do about it?

Interspersed throughout the debate will be international and regional commentary from across England.  The programme will open with Sky News’ international correspondent, Emma Hurd, who has come back to the UK after 10 years to deliver a special report on the rioting that has taken place regionally.

Viewers will be able to join in the debate by voting online via a Sky News poll: Why are they rioting? Protest or Greed. The vote will feature on screen throughout the debate so viewers can see opinion and any change in sentiment.

John Ryley, Head of Sky News, said: “We have seen an extraordinary outburst of violence in London and other cities across England.  This debate will look at getting to the bottom of what's caused the unrest and no doubt bring up the questions many people want answered.”
