You can wake up every morning with Kassata Edwards as she reports on the latest headlines in Western New York.
Kassata joined the YNN News team in March 2009 and is happy to be home in the Empire State.
She began her career in New York City as an intern, then desk assistant at NBC Nightly News, working alongside distinguished journalists Tom Brokaw and Brian Williams. It was during that time Kassata realized broadcast journalism was the field for her.
During Election 2004, Kassata had the privilege of traveling with NBC. She attended both the Republican and Democratic conventions doing everything under the sun, including assisting Today Show's Matt Lauer.
After graduation, Kassata said goodbye to her friends at NBC to pursue her interests as a reporter. She hopped in her car and ventured 3,000 miles to achieve her dream in Bellingham, Washington. Since then, Kassata has worked in Las Vegas, Reno and Fresno.
She attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck New Jersey where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. While in school, she also honed her skills in the broadcast industry by interning at CNN and our sister station NY1.
Kassata was born and raised in New York and her family still lives there.
She enjoys working out, traveling and meeting new people in Western NY.
