As of September 25th , France 24 begins Europe District a new monthly magazine consecrated to the countries who are candidates for joining the European Union, on its French and English channels.
Each month, France 24 will go on-the-road into the capital cities of expanded Europe and will offer a road book presented by its European reporters: Caroline de Camaret for the French channel and Christophe Robeet for the English.
The 34 minute innovative magazine (2 parts, 17 minutes each) will address the political and economical aspects relative to the progression of Turkey and the Balkans into the European Union.
Accented with remarkable reports and unexpected encounters, this new European rendezvous will also allow viewers to discover new cultures and unknown regions of Europe in the company of prestigious guests (political and business leaders, sociologists, artists).
The first edition of Europe District will be presented from Zagreb, Croatia, with its economic and touristic appeal, but also problems of corruption and integration of the Serbian minority, to finally reconcile with its neighbours and heal its wounds from its war with former Yugoslavia.
For this first edition, Caroline de Camaret and Christophe Robeet will welcome and interview Mrs Jadranka Kosor, Prime minister of Croatia.
Each month, this new rendezvous of information will be broadcast in alternation with “Talking Europe”, in partnership with RFI, which deals with all the topics and actualities of the 27 countries of the European Union.
Europe District, first edition will air Saturday, September 25th at 1:10 p.m (Paris time).
