France 24 Goes Inside the Egyptian Elections

On November 28, nine months after Hosni Mubarak’s regime was toppled and Parliament dissolved, Egyptians will vote in legislative elections expected to usher in a new political era.

France 24’s editorial team will provide exceptional live coverage of this historic event.

François Picard, in English and Vanessa Burggraf, in French, will present three special programmes from Cairo on the themes of youth and the Revolution, the country’s new elite and Egyptian identity.

What is the new face of Egypt? And what is the future of democracy there? Who are the people building and reflecting on the Egyptian society of the future?

These three programmes featuring in the field reports, meetings with candidates and analysis by our special correspondents will be broadcast on November 25, 26 and 27 at 14:10. (in multicast)

Monday, November 28, first day of the election, on all three channels:

- Several reports will discuss what’s at stake in this election in the Live From Paris morning segment and the early news bulletins.

- Focus at 07:15 with a lengthy report analysed by our commentators and correspondents in Egypt.

- The Debate at 19.10 presented by François Picard, Vanessa Burggraf and Taoufik Mjaied (in Arabic) who, together with their guests, will analyse the election’s initial trends, participation and all the stakes.

Live blogging will be offered on France24.com on November 28 enabling English, French and Arabic speaking Internet users to stay abreast of all the events on this historic day.
