Bloomberg Layoff's Continue

Bloomberg TelevisionThe door remains firmly wedged open at Bloomberg in recent weeks, but in the wrong direction as wide sweeping reforms by Bloomberg Television's new head David Rhodes continues to try to improve the fortunes of the loss making service.

It is widely known that a worldwide merger of all the television operations is now well underway, and the ruthless cull of staff has been on-going for several months, including a mass lay-off of staff earlier in the year when 100 lost their jobs.

In the last few weeks, assignment editor Mark Gillespie, Producers Jodi Gralnick, Ken Martin and Roger stone, and even more recently, Fran Zarnitsky have also now been made redundant.

It is believed that Rhodes is planning to bring Bloomberg Television more into line with its direct competitors CNBC and Fox Business Network, a view which was compounded by the appointment earlier this summer of Margaret Brennan from CNBC who joins Bloomberg as an anchor.
