Bloomberg TV Names Phillip Yin as New Anchor

BloombergBloomberg L.P. announced that Phillip Yin has joined the Bloomberg Television network as an anchor and reporter.

Yin will cover Asia Pacific markets, economic and financial news for Bloomberg Television’s 24-hour global business news network, available in more than 240 million homes around the world.

Yin, who is based in Hong Kong, will appear through the morning on “Bloomberg News Asia,” which takes viewers around the Asia-Pacific region from Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and other locations to offer a comprehensive update on the U.S. market close, the Europe trading day and the day ahead for Asia-Pacific markets.

Yin will also contribute to news reporting for the Bloomberg Television network’s hubs in London and New York. In addition to Bloomberg Television’s studio locations in New York, London and Hong Kong, the network has cameras at Bloomberg News bureaus, exchanges and markets sites in nearly 60 cities around the world.

Yin brings over 13 years of investment and business media experience to his role at the Bloomberg Television network. Prior to joining Bloomberg, he served as a senior portfolio strategy advisor at Unifund S.A., the Geneva-based investment company, where he provided institutional advisory services for an Asia-focused portfolio of private and public equity assets.

Yin has also served the Asia Portfolio program at Charles Schwab (based in Hong Kong) and prior to that, he served as a Hong Kong-based anchor/correspondent for CNBC Asia. Earlier in his career, Yin worked in Seattle for CIBC Oppenheimer and UBS PaineWebber.
