BBC Worldwide Channels and CANAL+ Cyfrowy, operator of Poland's digital DTH platform CYFRA+, have signed a new distribution deal to make the international high-definition channel from the BBC immediately available to subscribers of CYFRA+.
BBC HD is now available as part of the Prestiżowy HD+ tier and the HD Mix option, as well as a standalone channel on CYFRA+. The channel is available with a dual language option enabling viewers to access both a Polish lectored audio and the original English-language option. BBC HD appears as number 61 on CYFRA+ set-top boxes.
Dean Possenniskie, General Manager and SVP EMEA, BBC Worldwide Channels said: "We're completely focussed on bringing BBC HD, with some of the best HD content in the world, to as many homes as possible – this new deal takes total distribution of our channel to 750,000 households in Poland.
