ABC News’ Nightline continues to rank #1 for the full 2009-2010 season-to-date with 3.73 million Total Viewers, outperforming both CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman and NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno, according to Nielsen Media Research. For the nineteenth consecutive week, ABC News’ Nightline has outperformed Letterman among total viewers. The last time this happened was in 1999. Additionally, for the week of August 16, 2010, Nightline ranked second among A25-54, A18-49 and Total Viewers.
Compared to last year, Nightline experienced the most growth among the key Adults 25-54 demographic. Year-to-year, Nightline climbed +2% in the A25-54 demo, while Letterman in comparison declined -21%.
