On August 22, 2010, ABC News’ This Week with Christiane Amanpour was number two in the key Adults 25-54 demographic for the fourth consecutive week, outperforming CBS’ Face the Nation according to Nielsen Media Research. The program also experienced the most week to week growth among Total Viewers (+7%) versus CBS and NBC, while also gaining in Adults 25-54 (+1%) versus the prior week.
In addition, This Week was the only Sunday morning program to grow or hold steady compared to the same week last year in Total Viewers and the demo. Also versus the same week last year, This Week continued to close the gaps with NBC’s Meet the Press in both the demo by 48%, and in Total Viewers by 18%.
Last Sunday the program had exclusive interviews with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Daisy Khan, head of the American Society for Muslim Development and Rabbi Joy Levitt of Manhattan’s Jewish Community Center. The round table featured Al Hunt, Robert Reich, George Will and Judy Woodruff.
Christiane Amanpour is the anchor of This Week and Ian Cameron is the executive producer. The program airs Sundays on the ABC Television Network.
