ABC News to Air President Obama Primetime Address Next Tuesday

ABC News will broadcast live coverage of President Barack Obama’s Oval Office address on the state of the Iraq war Tuesday, August 31st beginning at 8:00 p.m., ET.  Diane Sawyer will anchor the primetime coverage and will be joined by Chief Political Correspondent and co-anchor of Good Morning America George Stephanopoulos. Coverage and analysis will continue on Nightline and the following morning on Good Morning America.

ABCNews.com will live stream the address and will provide extensive reporting from ABC’s political and national security correspondents as well as its reporters in Iraq.

ABC News Radio will provide live coverage of the President’s address to the nation, anchored by ABC News Radio Correspondent Aaron Katersky. He will be joined by ABC News Radio White House Correspondents Ann Compton and ABC News Radio Correspondent Jim Ryan who will be in Fort Bliss, Texas -- President Obama will meet with troops at Fort Bliss earlier on Tuesday.  ABC News Radio will also provide twice hourly one-minute updates from 8:00 p.m., ET through 11:00 p.m., ET.

ABC NewsOne, the network’s affiliate news service, will have correspondent John Hendren reporting on the speech for ABC affiliates and international partners.

Note: ABC Television Network will slide primetime programming scheduled to air during this time period in affected markets to begin following this special coverage.
